An Optical Transport Network (OTN) is a set of Optical Network Elements (ONE) connected by optical fiber links, able to provide the functionality of transport and multiplexing of optical channels carrying customer signals.

A somewhat recent addition to optical networking is ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer) A ROADM is a form of optical add-drop multiplexer that adds the ability to remotely switch traffic from a wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) system at the wavelength layer. Using ROADMs provides greater control of which channels are dropped and which are passed through, increasing channel flexibility, scalability, and lowering operational expense by reducing truck rolls to remote locations.

Artel understands the unique needs of global telecommunications companies and other service providers managing complex network infrastructures. Our DigiLink solution is a world-class, award-winning media transport platform designed for maximum flexibility and reliability in OTN and ROADM services.
